The in-circuit board tester ESI-1004 and ESI-1008 are designed to
detect the manufacturing defects of the printed circuit boards. These systems have 4 heads
(ESI-1004) or 8 heads (ESI-1008) to hit at pin-points of the boards by probe located on
these each heads. These heads are put on the 3-phase surface motors to move X-Y axis on
the platen. This surface motor method adoption makes it’s simple mechanics and better
reliability and higher measuring speed. The price is also compressed to reasonable level.
The 3-phase surface motor method achieved it’s high-speed and high-accuracy for no
comparison to any other competitor’s models. The models are designed to match up with
fully automatic in-line system and to have the flexibility by standard for it’s
controller.

Excel’s own development 3-phase surface
motor and intelligent driver achieve high speed traveling, low vibration and high-force.
The measuring speed is improved up to 1.6 ~ 1.8 times faster (VS our old model).
No wear due to air gap by surface motor
achieves long life of machine and simple mechanics for easy maintenance.
The gray-scale vision system for pattern
matching and fiducial mark correction makes position alignment of X-axis, Y-axis and ?
-angle due to PCB’s bad printing, shrinking and stopping position at measuring station.
Large board, max: 600*500mm, or high dense
board, which requires many short test steps based on CAD data, should be covered to
measure by 32000 measurement steps.
Very vertical probing angle, 6? , avoids
probing slip, wrong hitting position by PCB’s bend, and minimize dead zone by
neighboring tall components.
- POWERFUL MEASUREMENT FUNCTIONS
Addition to current measuring functions,
resistance, capacitance, coil and diode, it is available to measure low resistance by
Kelvin method, up to coupler “ON” test, relay “ON” test, MAX: 24V.
- AUTOMATIC CONVEYOR WIDTH ADJUSTMENT
No down time at the change over is achieved
by automatic data loading and conveyor adjustment. Bar-code-reader is available as option
feature.
Marking function for “PASS” or
“FALL” on the board by programmable positioning, up to maximum 128 panels, is
available.
The model ESI-1008 is good for simultaneous
measuring at both top and bottom sides.
