HI-GRADE #2212 MILDLY ACTIVATED (RMA) ROSIN FLUX

Description

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN FLUX is a specially formulated rosin mildly activated foam flux designed to prevent "white residue" formation.

This flux contains a specially blended solvent system to go along with its exceptionally pure rosin base, which provides very effective fluxing and greater insulation resistance.

Components in the solvent system are of high purity and the unique blending of solvents keeps evaporation losses to a minimum.

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN, FLUX is laboratory tested (both raw materials and finished product) under strict quality control for consistent composition and performance.

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN FLUX meets MIL-F-14256 specification covering liquid mildly activated rosin fluxes.

Uses

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN FLUX is especially formulated for fast, efficient foam fluxing of printed circuit boards and other electronic assemblies.

Advantages

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN FLUX has many special characteristics - among them are:

1) Flux formulation virtually eliminates unsightly white residues.
2) Excellent capillary action.
3) Fast recovery of foam column.
4) Instant wetting.
5) Minimal evaporation losses.

Applications

HI-GRADE #2212 ROSIN FLUX is formulated for use with foam flux operations, but can also be applied by dipping, brushing or spraying. Although there are no uniform working instructions because of the variety of foam fluxing equipment on the market, the following guidelines will help assure dependable solder joints:

1. Maintain adequate and constant flux level in the fluxing unit.
2. Evaporation losses should be compensated by using HI-GRADE #16-2212 ROSIN FLUX THINNER.
3. Keep equipment clean and avoid contamination, particularly, oil and water.
4. Keep the air pressure low and make sure the air lines contain traps to remove water and oils which may change the foaming properties of the flux.

Residue

The residue is considered non-hygroscopic, non-tacky and can be easily removed with Hi-Grade rosin residue removers. Alcohol and chlorinated solvents will also remove the residue, but at a reduced rate. It is suggested when to remove all undecomposed flux to attain high reliability.
